main image Cantilever bridge at Falls of Lora, Connel, Argyll
This steel cantilever bridge, like a smaller Forth Bridge, was opened in 1903. It is situated near the seaward end of a sea loch (Loch Etive).

The bridge has a main span of 152m. It was built for both road and rail use, the railway serving the slate quarries at Ballachulish.

Since the closure of the railway in 1966, it has continued to be used as a road bridge.
