Ferranti Thistle - Football Team

Ferranti Thistle were the works team of the Ferranti electronics company. Formed in 1949, they later became Meadowbank Thistle, before moving west to Livingston and becoming Livingston Football Club. They played their first games under their new name in season 1995-6. They played their first game at their new Almondvale Stadium on 11th of November 1995. They achived promotion to the Scottish Premier League in 2001and finished a very creditable third place in the SPL, in their very first season.
