The Changing Game, Part 1:
Third Lanark

Third Lanark v Hearts at Cathkin Park, Glasgow

Third Lanark went out of business in 1967. They had been founder members of the Scottish League and had won the League title (in 1904) and the Scottish Cup twice (1889 and 1905). Even as late as 1961 they were third in the Scottish First Division (the top division at the time). The reasons why they went out of business so quickly have never been fully explained, though there are opinions that they club was run down to facilitate a property development deal.
