Clydebank enjoyed two season in the Premier League, after their promotion from the First Divsion in 1985. They were relegated after finishing eleventh in season 1986-7.

Clydebank did not enjoy much luck against Rangers in this 1986-7 season, only scoring one goal, and losing seventeen, in the four games they met.
