Cottages, Aberfeldy, Perthshire |
These
houses are of a central-highland type. They have a thatched roof,
held down with wooden spars and a turf apex. Their front walls have
been lime-washed and a stone buttress props up the front wall.
The chimney heads are of a type used with wooden canopy chimneys. They are butted against, rather than set into, the wall and hung above a low-set fire. |
