Hooliganism, Part 6:
Poem

Poem:
'I Think Jesus Would Have Been at Ibrox', by Alastair Mackie, 1987

'I Think Jesus Would Have Been at Ibrox' is a poem by Alastair Mackie. It was published in the volume 'Ingaitherins' in 1987.

The poem, narrated from the point of view of a Scottish minister who is giving a sermon, relates the violence of the crucifixion to the violence of supporters at a football game at Ibrox.

The language of the poem is a dense, literary Scots which mixes Lallans with the dialect of the North East.
