The Falls of Dochart, Killin, Perthshire |
The wild and seemingly unaltered landscape of the Scottish Highlands appealed to a Victorian taste for the Romantic.
Improved communications brought many admiring visitors, writers and artists who in earlier times would have been unimpressed or even disgusted.
The Falls of Dochart were one of a number of 'honey pot' sites which featured as stopping points on highland tours. They had the virtue of being next to a main road and so were extensively photographed. |
