Omond House was the rather grand name given in honour of the Scottish meteorologist Robert T Omond to the building erected in 1903 on Laurie Island in the South Orkney Islands to accommodate shore-based members of the 1902-1904 Scottish National Antarctic Expedition, organised and led by William S Bruce.
The picture shows three members of the expedition posing in front of Omond House after completion of the wooden extension seen under construction in image 037-043.
The central figure could be the leader himself, and the other two people might be Argentinian meteorologists brought from Buenos Aires when the Scotia returned from refit and resupplying there.
