Pat Barker's novel is a moving fictional account of the soldiers and their suffering during 'The Great War'. Regeneration was the first of the trilogy and focused on the the work of W H R Rivers and the meeting of Owen and Sassoon at Craiglockhart War Hospital in 1917.
