intro and mission

Correct answer

Good. Making Uspak ruler of the Isles can only benefit you. As a native Islander and a descendent of Somerled, the people of the Isles are more likely to trust him. Through Uspak, you could indirectly spread your authority within the Isles.

In 1230, Uspak launches an attack on Rothesay Castle on the island of Bute.

Bute is the stronghold of the Anglo-Norman Stewart family. They are feudal lords under the King of Scots. Attacking their castle reinforces the growing Norwegian power in the west and undermines the kingdom of the Scots. This gains you respect among the Gaelic kinsfolk of the Isles. They also oppose the King of Scots.

Unfortunately, Uspak is fatally wounded and dies shortly after the attack. He has served you well.
