The winning strategy. You gather your followers from north
and south and head toward Stirling Castle. You take up a position by the bridge
over the river. It is very narrow and can only allow two or three men to cross
at once.
As the English army advance, you wait until only half of their army
is over the bridge and attack!
You massacre most of the English army in one sweep.
You stop the English army in their tracks. Those who don't cross the bridge
into the killing fields simply turn and flee from the horror.
Edward I feels this defeat like a shockwave through his kingdom.
His treasurer Cressingham is killed on the battlefield. News travels back
that the rebel William Wallace and others are now wearing his skin as belts
in mockery of him.
