Statue of St Olaf, 14th-century - SMC254

Two statues of St Olaf and St Magnus were found during the early 20th century restoration of St Magnus Cathedral. They are now displayed in The Orkney Museum, Tankerness House, Kirkwall.

The statue probably dates for the early 14th century. It shows him dressed and crowned as a king. He is also depicted as carrying a spear or staff.

A modern wooden statue of St Olaf is in the north choir aisle of St Magnus Cathedral.
