The Unknown Cathedral - SMC248

"The Unknown Cathedral" was the Orkney Museum's summer exhibition in 2001. It was an exhibition that focused on the less well known aspects of St Magnus Cathedral.

The exhibition included photographs, paintings and artefacts from the Cathedral. The items were chosen to illustrate the things that were not usually noticed in the Cathedral. A video of the work of the Cathedral Stone Mason was also shown.

A book to accompany the exhibition was published. It is titled " The Unknown Cathedral" and is a collection of 5 essays and a great many photographs.
