A
Church of Scotland Parish Church - SMC245
This
sign hangs on the west front of St Magnus Cathedral. It states
that Church of Scotland services take place in the Cathedral.
St Magnus Cathedral has been used as a Presbyterian parish
church since the seventeenth century. Until the early twentieth
century services were held in the choir, which was packed
with pews and galleries. After the early twentieth century
restoration the congregation moved to the nave.
Regular services are held every Sunday and the Cathedral is
also used for other services such as weddings, funerals, school
services and carol services.
