is the choir and presbytery of St Magnus Cathedral as they
were from the 1850s until the early twentieth century. From
the late seventeenth century to the present, St
After the government's mid-nineteenth century restoration
of the cathedral, the congregation moved back in and redecorated
as they saw fit. This involved the installation of pews and
galleries and the building of new screens to separate the
choir from the nave.
The choir and presbytery remained separated from the nave
until the early twentieth century when the congregation moved
into the nave following a major refurbishment.
