Cursiter speaking about the history of the Cathedral - SMC232
This
is an audio clip of Dr Stanley Cursiter giving a brief history
of St Magnus Cathedral. It was used as an introduction to
a radio appeal for donations to repair the Cathedral in the
early 1970s.
Stanley Cursiter was born in Kirkwall and is one of the Orkney
Islands' most famous artists. He was the Queen's Painter and
Limner for Scotland..
This clip, and many others, can be found in the Ernest Marwick
collection in the Orkney Archive.
