Procession of St Lucy - SMC213
This is the procession of St Lucy and her attendants during the Norwegian Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in 2002. The ceremony takes place in early December and is an annual event.
In Scandinavia the feast of St Lucy is on the shortest day of the year and is celebrated as a festival of light.
The Norwegian Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Kirkwall is one of the largest community events in the North of Scotland.
