Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony - SMC211
This
is a video of The Norwegian Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
at St Magnus Cathedral. It is an annual event and takes place
in early December.
T he ceremony consists of a carol service and concert and
includes contributions from Orkney school children and Norwegian
musicians. The ceremony is one of the largest community events
in the North of Scotland.
The Christmas Tree is donated by the people of Hordaland and
the lights are turned on by an official from Hordaland Council.
