The Boiler - SMC198
St Magnus Cathedral is heated by an oil fired boiler. The boiler room is located outside the Cathedral to the north of the choir.
The boiler room was constructed during the early twentieth century restoration. The original boiler has been replaced and the current one dates from 1987. An interesting point is that the flue for the boiler is built into a pinnacle on the north side of the choir.
