Choir Aisle Screens - SMC195

Two wooden screens divide the choir aisles of St Magnus Cathedral and the crossing. This is the screen in the south choir aisle.

The screens are covered in carvings of vines and foliage and the panels have linen fold designs. They rise to approximately 3 metres and frame the aisles, providing an ornate doorway from the crossing to the choir aisles.

Like all the other wood furnishings of the early twentieth century the screens were designed by George Mackie Watson and carved by Scott Morton and Company from Scottish Oak.
