Hugh Hossack's grave - SMC171
This
gravestone can be found in the graveyard of St Magnus Cathedral.
It marks the graves of Buckham Hugh Hossack, and his wife
Sibla Rebecca Montieth.
Buckham Hugh Hossack was a teacher, an honorary Justice of
the Peace and a member of Orkney County Council. He also wrote
a history of Kirkwall called 'Kirkwall in the Orkneys'.
The graveyard of St Magnus Cathedral encloses the areas to
the north, east, and south of the Cathedral. It has been estimated
that 6,000 people are buried there.
