Stanley Cursiter's appeal - SMC160

This is part of an appeal by Stanley Cursiter which was broadcast on the radio. He asked for people to donate money to pay for critical repairs to the nave of St Magnus Cathedral. The Cathedral was a very special place for Cursiter, as can be seen in his paintings.

Stanley Cursiter was an Orcadian and was born in Kirkwall. He is one of the Orkney Islands' most famous artists and was the Queen's Painter and Limner for Scotland.

The appeal was recorded by Ernest Walker Marwick and can be found in the Orkney Sound Archives.
