The font in the nave - SMC148

Located in the west end of the nave of St Magnus Cathedral is a carved wooden font. It probably dates from the late nineteenth century, and is dedicated to the memory of the Reverend James Stuart, born 1834, ordained 1868, died 1883.

Carved around the font are four angels with arms and wings spread. Between the angels are a dedicatory plaque, a cross, a Star of David, and the Lamb of God.
Caption Text 3 Carved around the rim of the font is the bible verse "Suffer little children to come unto me". This can be found in Mark 10:14 and Luke 18:16.
