The St Rognvald Lectern - SMC144

This lectern can be found in the presbytery of St Magnus Cathedral. In 1965 this part of the Cathedral was named the St Rognvald Chapel.

All the furnishings, including the lectern, were designed by Stanley Cursiter, a native of Kirkwall and famous Orcadian artist. They were crafted by Reynold Eunson, a local joiner.

Sixteenth and seventeenth century wooden carvings are incorporated into the design of the lectern, pulpit and communion table.
