Martyrdom
of St Magnus display - SMC137
Mounted
on the organ screen in the presbytery of St Magnus Cathedral
is a collection of painted panels. They were painted by fifteen
children, aged thirteen years, from the Isle of Arran.
The panels depict the events surrounding the martyrdom of
St Magnus and the construction of the Cathedral. The scenes
are accompanied by a centrally mounted description.
The panels were presented to the people of Orkney on June
10th 1980 as a tribute to the St Magnus Festival.
