Corbel tables of the choir aisle and clerestory - SMC132

This photograph shows the south flank of the choir of St Magnus Cathedral. The corbel table of the choir aisle and the clerestory are early thirteenth century in design.

This indicates that the choir was either completed or rebuilt during the thirteenth century. This corresponds to the theory that the Cathedral was remodelled during the espiscopate of Bjarni Kolbeinsson.

On the north side of the choir, twelfth century corbel heads have been reused in the thirteenth century corbel table.
