Isaac
Stained Glass Window - SMC104
CLocated
in the south choir aisle of St Magnus Cathedral is a stained
glass depiction of Isaac on Mount Moriah. It shows a young
boy carrying instruments of sacrifice, which are a large knife
and a bundle of fire wood.
According to the Bible, Isaac was the son of Abraham and Sarah.
When he was a child God asked his father to sacrifice him
on top of Mount Moriah. Isaac was spared by God at the last
moment.
This window was created by the studio of Oscar Patterson and
is part of the extensive scheme of windows installed in the
1920s.
