Parable of the Sower Stained Glass Window - SMC099

Located in the south nave aisle of St Magnus Cathedral is a stained glass window of the Parable of the Sower.

The Parable of the Sower is a story in the New Testament of the Bible. It can be found in Matthew 13:1-23 and Luke 8:4-18. Jesus tells of a farmer who sowed his seeds on a path, on stony ground, among thorns, and on good soil. Only the seed on the good soil grew and yielded a crop.

The window was made by Ballantyne and Gardner and is dedicated to Buckham Hugh Hossack, a historian who wrote 'Kirkwall in the Orkneys' and was a member of Orkney County Council.
