The stone heads in the south east side of the nave - SMC052
On the south side of the nave a number of stylised human and animal heads can be found. The south side of the nave has mainly pillars built into the walls as supports but where carvings have survived they are stylised heads.
The two heads shown can be found in the south east side of the nave. The heads are clearly not realistic and are carved in a stylised rather than naturalistic manner.
Carved heads can be found throughout both sides of the nave of St Magnus Cathedral. They can also be found in other parts of the cathedral.
