A limestone coffin can be found stored in the south triforium of the nave of St Magnus Cathedral.

The coffin is thought to date from the fourteenth century. However, it may date from the .

The possibility that it could date from the thirteenth century is due to the fact that it may have been the temporary resting place of King Hakon Hakonson of Norway. King Hakon died in Kirkwall in 1263 and his body was moved to Norway in 1264.
