Man-made Hazards

 Many boats leaving Wick Harbour

Not all of the hazards faced by fishermen at sea are from natural sources. Fishermen are not the only users of the sea. Others that they meet can pose a risk, either by obstructing the passage of their boats and nets, or by actively threatening them. Another very important factor is the attitude and actions of the fishermen. There is much that fishermen can do to improve their own safety on the water.
