Women in Football, Part 3:
Girls Training Camp

Girls Soccer Training Camp (video clip)

Football is the national sport, which has become the national obsession of Scotland. Never better illustrated than when playing the 'Auld Enemy', England, a time when ancient nationalistic resentment is often shown.

Women's football is administered by the Scottish Women's Football Association, founded in 1972, supervising football for women of 14 years and over in both 11- and 5-a-side teams. Teams are fielded regularly in international competitions.

The film shows a training game at the soccer training camp in Hamilton for girls, in 1997.
