Scotland & England, Part 5:
Denis Law, 1967

Denis Law scoring in the 1967 Scotland v England match

England's Martin Peters (right) looks on in vain as Denis Law puts the ball past England goalkeeper Gordon Banks to score Scotland's first goal during their international match at Wembley. Scotland won 3-2.

Denis Law famously refused to watch England's World Cup win the previous year, preferring to play golf when the match against Germany was played.

Law was signed for Huddersfield by Bill Shankly and played at Manchester City before a season with Torino. He moved back to England to play for Manchester United where he won two League Championship medals before returning to Manchester City to end his career. He now works as a sports commentator and after dinner speaker.
