The Tartan Army refers to the supporters of Scotland's National Football Team who regularly attend matches home and away. There are between 5,000 and 20,000 travelling fans at major tournaments.

France 98 was Scotland's eighth Football World Cup appearance. Scotland were put out in the first round.
