Rangers, Part 1:
Jim Baxter

Football at Ibrox - Rangers v Raith Rovers - Jim Baxter leaves the field at the end of the game

Jim Baxter remains one of the most fondly remembered of all Scottish players. His skill and arrogance combined to make him one of Scotland's great talents. Remembered for taunting the World Champions at Wembley in 1967, Baxter was the player most fans would have wanted to be. He scored twice against England in 1963 and would have put the ball through his own net in order to claim a hat-trick, had the English not got one goal back. He died in 2001, after long battles against illness.
