Famous Teams:
Rangers

The Rangers team of the 1960s was very much overshadowed by the Jock Stein-inspired Celtic team. While Celtic embarked on their nine-in-a-row League winning streak from 1966 and achieved success in the European Cup, the Rangers team of the 1960s were also a strong, successful team. Some of the important players of this time were John Greig, Ronnie McKinnon and the incomparable Jim Baxter.

The Rangers side of 1972 finally won their first European trophy, the Cup Winners Cup. In 1967 Rangers were beaten finalists in the Cup Winners Cup final against Bayern Munich, and previously lost to Fiorentina of Italy in the same tournament of 1961.
