Lisbon Lions, 1967

Celtic's goalkeeper, in action in the 1967 European Cup final

Celtic's goalkeeper, Ronnie Simpson, jumps to catch a high ball from Inter Milan in the European Cup final in Lisbon. Tommy Gemmell and Stevie Chalmers scored for Celtic which ensured a suprise 2-1 victory for the Scottish team, later to be known as "The Lisbon Lions". Celtic became the first British side to win the trophy and remain the only Scottish side to reach the final, a feat they repeated in 1970, losing to Feyenoord 2-1, after extra time.
