Lang Reel This re-enactment was staged as part
of the celebrations to mark the updating of
the Collieston Harbour Act of 1894 with the
Collieston Harbour revision Order 1991. The
traditional musicians from the band Hallyracket
who provided the music, also researched the
dance steps.

Snowboules The French game of Boules or
Pentanque was introduced to NE Scotland
by French oil workers. It was embraced
with a passion in Collieston (and
particularly championed by Rear Admiral
Ritchie on his retirement back to
the village after heading the International
Hydrographic Institute in Monaco)
one of the highlights for the club
is the “snowboules” match
held every year on Boxing Day.
